A most unusual late Victorian pinchbeck/gilt metal swivel locket brooch; double sided and complete with 2 original images.
One side features a gorgeous hand tinted period photo of a young girl posed leaning on a dark wooden dresser, wearing a blue dress and long gold chain with a locket.
Unusually, the dresser features in half the image and has an urn or similar ornament stood on it.
The reverse side has a more traditional period photo of an attractive woman, with typical high neck collar and wearing white.
Both sides have their original frames and glass.
The centre piece swivels on a pin so that either side may be worn to the front (as shown in my images).
Tube hinge, pin and 'c' catch to fasten.
Measurements: 2 1/8" by 1 7/8".
In good antique condition, as shown in photos. Please view them all carefully as they are a MAJOR part of the description.
Very unusual and a real collectors piece.
