A wonderful Art Deco period Cornish pixie brooch.
In folklore, pixies are considered to be particularly concentrated in the high moorland areas around Devon and Cornwall, UK.
These brooches were very popular during the period and it was believed they would bring the wearer good luck.
The brooch is made of sterling silver and has pink enamelling to the front, with the silver figure of the pixie sat in the centre.
Back is impressed STERLING SILVER MADE IN ENGLAND.
Original ball hinge, pin and 'c' catch to fasten.
Measurements: 27mm by 25mm
In good overall vintage condition; some staining & enamel loss commensurate with age and use (as seen in images).
