Handsome French antique sterling silver napkin ring with ornate empire-style palmette decoration.
This superb ring is stamped with the French minerva 1 hallmark, indicating a fineness of 950/1000 parts silver (higher than sterling). The maker's mark appears to read BE or BF with a fleur de lys symbol; we haven't been able to identify this maker through online registries, but it was likely made during the late 19th to early 20th century by the nature of the design.
Condition is very good; the shape is ever-so-slightly out of round with gentle wear to the surface.
Well cared-for and built to last, this solid, exquisite piece would make an excellent addition to one's collection of antique napkin rings.
Nice, heavy weight at 37 grams.
Measures 1.5 inches tall x 2 inches in diameter.
