An original Cambridge Draped Lady Lamp! All that has been added to it are the shade, the bulb fittings, and the new wiring.
Before putting this on the market I have spoken with several glass experts through the years at the Depression Glass Shows. They told me to be careful as these have been reproduced and the main problem is the metal back holders for the wiring which I was told are reproduced in aluminum. I will tell you that this have been in my family since about 1970 when we got it from a doll collector so I know it is NOT a reproduction. Mother had gone over to visit them about some dolls and came back with 2 lamps; this being one of them. At the time we got it only the glass base and the back rod were there. It stayed around the house and in the early 1980's I had it rewired (there was NO wiring at all when we got it), the bulb holder put on and then I went out to a specialty lamp shade shop and got the shade. This was while I was still living in Minneapolis/St. Paul, and I will put in writing the time limit we got it as well as the name and location of the family we bought it from. The lady was a doll collector of many years and mother and I were only 5 years into doll collecting. Mother bought it because she loved pretty glass as well and also the style of a lady figurine. At this time they were not making reproductions as the depression glass industry was still very new and prices were not what they are today on these items.
You should be able to see the aging on the rod in the back from the photo's and the old slight rusting to the original screws on the base. The glass part is 8 1/2" tall and the lamp is a total of 15 3/4" to the top of the shade. I usually have used a 40 watt bulb with her but a 25 watt would also do. Glass base is just 4" across and it is totally perfect: No chips or nicks anywhere. Just some old straw marks in the underside of the glass base.
Ask me any questions you wish for as I said I know where this one came from so I know it is old and original!
