Wonderful Sugar and Creamer set with tray from the Art Deco era. These are out of the estate of a friend of mine and it was his Grandparents that had them. They lived in Minnesota in St. Paul during the depression and after until moving to a suburb of Minneapolis in the late 1950's. We have the name and actual times of their ownership of the pieces and will put that in writing for you so you do have the provenance of the set.
They are shaped in an 8 sided octagon and are in perfect condition. They are simply decorated with a silver deposit decoration on white china background. The sugar bowl is approx. 4 1/4" across and 6" across from tip of handle to handle. The creamer is also 4 1/4" across and 5 1/4" from the tip of the spout to the tip of the handle. The tray is 4 3/8" wide by 8 3/8" long. The bottoms are marked Z.S. & Co. above BAVARIA, but only the sugar and creamer are marked. The tray seems to have some smudges on the bottom but there is no ability to be sure if it is a smudged marking or what.
There are a few streaks under the glaze on the underside of the tray and 2 corners of the octagon of the creamer. These are definately under the glaze so they are not scratches to the china.
As I said before we do know where they came from and who owned them so we will send you a written statement of the origins of the set when you purchase them.
