Here I have 2 serving bowls that are a fully hand blown glass. I have tried my best to photograph the bowls with the pontil mark showing on the bottom of the bowls. I also tried to show you there are some scratches in the inside of the bowls as they were used, mostly for Cranberry sauce.
I know this because they came from my mothers estate and she got them about 1955, 56, or 57, as I remember her bringing them home. She rarely used them so they stayed up in the cupboard with her set of fine dinner china that she had gotten as a wedding present. They are good thick glass and the pontil marks show how they were free style blown. I pictured them from the side so you can see the inside of the bottom of each bowl is different. One comes up further into the bowl that the other one. They are both 2 3/4" tall and 5 1/23" across the top. The base is 3/38" across and there are no mold marks on either one of them.
I do not know exactly what manufacture of glass they might be but since they are blown I am making a supposition they might be Blenko Glass as I know they were doing a lot of blown glass items at this time (my grandmother had signed Blenko items). since they are simple clear glass and unsigned i am selling them as a pair at a very reasonable price. Please email me with any questions you might have.
