Great antique china head doll with the molded collar and the name "Marion" on the front breast plate. On the back is the "Patent Applied For" and the word "Germany" below that. This one is also from the estate of the mother of a close friend. She is about 20 +" tall and the head is perfect. However the body is a replacement though not brand new. I would say it is probably from the 1950's or 60's while the head is a genuine 1900 to WWI era. The gold trim has worn off but still she is well painted and you can see all the fine details including the red eye lid lines above the pupils of the eyes. She is from the Hertwig factory. The clothing is nice and well made. The dress is a heavy wine red velour and the underclothes appear to be older white cotton trimmed with lace. The arms and legs are probably of a low fire china ceramic as I do see craze liners in the glaze. This does not mean they will break or peel, but I just want everyone to know that they are there!
Though she is perfect and well painted I am still keeping her at a very fair low price so email me with any questions you might have.
