Wonderful vintage old table cloth and napkins. There is a complete set of 12 napkins to go with this table cloth and the cloth itself is made for a large table. The cloth is about 70" wide by about 96" long. That is when you have it totally unfolded but you can keep it folded also to use on a smaller table. It is of a cotton material, but though it has a pattern to it, I am hesitant to call it "Damask" as I am just not totally sure if this would be Damask. This is from my mother's estate and I remember her using it frequently through the 1950's and 1960's. We were a family of 6 and when you added my grandparents and any guests the 12 napkins would have been used completely.
The napkins are 14" by 14" approximately and I will tell you the whole set is completely washable. There are some stains on the one side of the table cloth which I can tell you is probably from the brown cardboard box it has been in for the past 23 years. It is the only side that has a stain on it and it was on the outside of the cloth. The other parts of the tablecloth are just fine as are the napkins. The pattern is not a perfect match but they are both a floral pattern and I know they were used together.
As I said this set was packed away before the estate sale which was in January of 1995 right after Dad died, so I know where this comes from and where it has been. It would be great for a large family and a good washing, maybe with a little spray-n-wash should take out those stains just fine. As always email me with any questions you might have.
