Lovely old painted china service tray. The painted roses are probably hand painted from a stencil. They show some age and there is the remains of what probably was a gold filigree around the border of the plate just outside of the floral painting. That with age has worn quite a bit but the piece is still in great and usable condition. I have used things like this often in my entertaining through the years and this would be a good one used as a cookie, cupcake, or even a brownie platter. The plate is 10" across and 10 1/2" from tip of the handle to the other tip of the handle. The back is also pictured and it is totally blank. I suspect this to be German, Austrian, or Bavarian in manufacture. It simply does not have the feather weight thinness of the French china.
