This beauty is from the German Doll company which is now closed out and sold off. It was made for the 2005 National convention in Philadelphia and was a special luncheon souvenir. It is 6 1/4" tall from the tip of the foot to the tip of the arm (wrist) which extends over the head and made of fine porcelain.
The German Doll company was able to obtain and buy out old doll factory molds from the original makers when the Iron Curtain went down and east Germany amalgamated with West Germany. The difference to their products is they proudly marked them with the clown symbol and Made in Germany to disavow any possible way people should be swindled into thinking they were actual antique dolls. This is because they have been made from the original molds instead of taking a mold from the doll and reproducing it , which accounts for a certain percentage of shrinkage in the product. You can still see the remains of numbers and Germany on the butt just above the new marking on the bottom. Alas, the company tried for years but eventually had to call it quits and sell off, so this actual firm no longer is in business. too bad as they mad some WONDERFUL products, like this lovely lady, and the workmanship is exquisite.
The doll comes with her original box and the handmade beach towel (or rug) with Atlantis City on it.
