You will love this doll! Stunning antique bisque 14" French block letter F.G. (Francois Gauthier name changed to Gaultier in 1875) Bebe. Ca. 1879-1887. She is PERFECT! Her head is impressed F. 2/0 G. in block letters. Head and body are original to each other. High quality, beautiful early pressed pale bisque socket head with fabulous large almond shaped blue paperweight eyes. Doll is sometimes referred to as a "Portrait" F.G. due to her large almond shaped paperweight eyes. Mauve eye shadow. Lovely painted eyebrows and eyelashes. Her cheek blush is perfect and beautiful. Fabulous and beautifully painted closed pouty mouth. Pierced ears with her original earrings. She retains her original very full mohair wig and cork pate. Retains original metal coil inside of her head. She is on a fully jointed eight ball wood and composition body with no repaint. Early straight wrists with cupped hands. Small flake on two toes of one foot. She wears antique clothing consisting of an antique dress, velvet jacket, velvet tam, full slip, 2 half slips, pantaloons, socks and old leather marked "2" shoes. Shoes have two button ankle straps. May be original to the doll. Doll is perfect with no flaws except for the toe flakes on one foot. CONDITION: PERFECT bisque socket head with NO cracks, chips or hairlines, eye flakes or earring hole flakes. GUARANTEED TO HAVE NO CRACKS, CHIPS, HAIRLINES, REPAIRS OR REPAINT. Doll's head has been thoroughly checked with a strong light to the inside and a black light used on the outside and inside to detect any repaint or air brushed repairs. Excellent original full mohair wig. Body is perfect with no repaint with tight stringing. Flake to toe of one foot. All fingers are present. Clothing is very nice with some age toning. Dress has shredding and tears on both sleeves. A few holes in the lace. Velvet jacket is very nice as is the velvet tam. Under garments are very nice. Antique black socks have holes. Shoes have wear to the leather and they are fragile. Tear on one strap but it has been repaired. Other shoe has a replaced tiny round button that buttons to one side of the ankle strap.
