Made by Gebruder Heubach in the early 1900's, this gorgeous, large 9" figurine portrays a sweet baby laying on its back playing with his feet. He is made of bisque and hand painted by the finest, most respected of the porcelain manufacturers of its time. These figurines are HIGH QUALITY and the detailing can only be appreciated in person. The face is so real and beautifully molded and each finger and toe is sculpted exquisitely. This beautiful boy is in EXCELLENT CONDITION with no chips, cracks, damages or repairs. It is just amazing that these piano babies have survived the test of time. This baby has deeply molded blonde hair, intaglio eyes (which give that life-like look that only Heubach could create), and a slightly open mouth with two tiny upper teeth. He wears a white chemise with painted blue ribbon trim. The figurine is incised with the Gebruder Heubach sunburst insignia on the bottom (right around the breathing hole) and the number 50.
