Precious 22" Simon & Halbig Character Doll 949, Circa Late 1800's. Great example of a gorgeous, rarer to find 949 with bisque socket head, large chocolate glass inset eyes, painted lashes and feather brush-stroked brows. This girl is Personality plus - with her great elongated facial modeling and pouty expression! Her beautiful coloring includes peachy cheeks, accented nostrils and outlined lips. She has a closed mouth with pretty full lips and a dimpled chin and philtrum! Her original light brunette mohair wig has spiral curls and the original hair ribbon and is still attached to her cardboard pate. She wears a drop waist lavender and dusty-purple checked silk dress with antique lace accents and tiny mother-of pearl buttons down the front. It is made from all antique fabrics and compliments her coloring. To top it off - she comes with a wonderful antique bi-colored, wide-brim straw hat with vintage flowers and ribbon to match her dress. She has on her original underthings that fit her like a glove - a set - with a Chemise, matching pantaloons & a slip that all button together, so sweet. I believe these have survived with her all these years. Her brown antique German made shoes and black socks finish her look! She is a sweetheart and would fit right in with any high-end collection - French or German. Don't you just want to take her home??
