A very pretty Art Nouveau green glass and silver plated centrepiece or brides bowl as they are often called, due to the fact that they were very often presented as wedding gifts but not always.
It is made from a hand blown and moulded green glass bowl with frilled everted rim, the bowl is attached to a single pedestal stand of silver plated alloy metal which has typical Art Nouveau styled flowers and foliate in low relief, it is hollow.
It is very pretty and in very good condition for the age, c1905-6.
There are no chips or cracks and the brass alloy stand is sturdy and strong.
The bowl is slightly off centre through the stand however this is how it was made and it does not affect stability at all.
Lovely addition to the dining table or a fancy new fruit bowl, possibilities are endless.
8.5" diameter of the bowl
