An absolutely gorgeous pair of very early 1920's shoes, these were more likely dance shoes, made in France with a slightly larger heel.
Made from soft leather they have been dyed to a beautiful slightly metallic deep purple shade, they have a paste stone fastening on the front made from gilded metal in a flower shape, this is missing many stones.
The fastener fits into a loop in the leather on the front to close the shoe.
They are hard soled with a louis heel reminiscent of the early 20's, the heel is around 2½ inches, typically seen in the French shoes.
They have 6 horizontal straps running down the front and a pointed toe.
They are Unlabelled and unsized the width measurement is just below standard width fitting at approx 2.8"
The length comes in at approx 9.5"
The measurements most closely represent the below modern day shoe sizes:
UK shoe size: 7
US shoe size 9
EU shoe size: 40
If you require any further measurements or pictures then please drop us a message and we will be happy to help.
The condition is fair, the sole and heel are pretty strong and the leather is still nice and supple, a few of the horizontal straps have some weakening and wear at the bottom where they attach to the shoe, not completely detached but could do with strengthening, paste stones are missing from the fasteners and there has been a repair to the leather fastener loop on one shoe.
Very decadent pair of early 1920's 'flapper' era dance shoes in a beautiful and classic style.
