A very pretty pair of late Victorian cameo earrings set in 9ct gold.
This pretty pair are very detailed and the carved bullmouth shell cameos are set into a rope twist 9ct yellow gold mount.
They have a screwback fitting that works well and the fastenings are also made from solid 9ct gold, both the back of the frames and the fasteners are marked 9ct.
Very well made and exceptionally pretty pair of antique earrings that can be worn with pierced or none pierced ears.
Screwbacks were invented late in the Victorian era when the non piercing of oneself became popularised.
These were made in England around 1890 they are around 1.2" in length in total and weigh 3.13 grams.
