A beautiful antique Anglo-Indian Vizagapatam trinket / jewellery box.
Heavily and intricately inlaid by hand with beautiful mother of pearl, porcelain, bovine bone and porcupine quill, all forming a beautiful star pattern on the lid and carrying on the design all over the box.
The intricacy of these beautiful boxes is unbelievable.
The wood is all over lacquered and the old dovetail joins can be seen on the corners.
This beautiful box is in relatively good condition for the age with some minor age related wear but nothing major.
It is lined inside with a red felt which shows some slight fade and the base has a bone rim that sits on the surface.
