A beautiful antique Anglo-Indian Vizagapatam trinket / jewellery box.
Heavily and intricately inlaid by hand with beautiful mother of pearl, porcelain, bovine bone and ebony, all forming a beautiful star pattern on the lid and carrying on the design all over the box.
The intricacy of these beautiful boxes is unbelievable.
The wood is all over lacquered and the old dovetail joins can be seen on the corners.
There is a small chip on one side and the inlay has come away or chipped in a few tiny areas, there are a few areas of repair, the price reflects this and it does not really detract.
It is lined inside with a red felt which shows some slight fade and the base has a bone rim that sits on the surface.
