A gorgeous mid Edwardian c1905 black silk top hat designed for riding or hunting and dressage.
It is a traditional style and it is in very good condition for the age and comes with the original cardboard box, made by Scott and Co, Hatters to HM the King (Edward) and the Royal family, London.
The label can be found inside the hat in gilt lettering, there is a brown quilted sweatband and an elastic strap to hold the hat in place whilst riding, the paper label can be found on the box also.
There is a tiny amount of wear to one piece of the silk under the rim (see photos) though this is not noticeable when worn.
The box shows some age related wear.
The size is not present but it is approx 22" circumference and 4.5" height.
