A very beautiful late Georgian Staffordshire pottery WAX seal, circa 1830-40.
The handle is made from glazed porcelain hand painted with a floral scene and ground gilt, the porcelain handle is set into a weighty and solid gilded brass base which has not been engraved so could be personalised with you family name, initials or crest.
It is in excellent condition and came to us as part of a wide collection of wax seals.
Any unusual and unique piece to find and particularly in such good condition.
Approx 2.5" height and 2.2" circumference.
