A gorgeous late 1910's mourning dress in black silk with silk covered buttons with lace inset to the neckline and drop waist.
This beautiful dress dates from around 1918-1922 on the cusp of antique and early 1920's a mixture of the two periods can be found in this piece.
It has a collarless short soft v neckline finished with a black lace trim, tapered buttoned sleeves and Button detailing up the back from the waist.
There is a low mid side fastening with hook and eye fasteners and the drop waist has the same silk covered button detailing, it has full hips and attractive ruched pin tuck detailing to the shoulders.
It would make a beautiful evening dress or period costume for events etc.
It is unlined silk, there has been a repair to one arm near the cuff and there are a few buttons missing from the other side cuff.
There looks to have been a repair to the top of the neckline where the v meets.
It is very old and delicate but still wearable, it has not been cleaned by us so may require cleaning prior to use and will require specialist cleaning.
It is creased from being in storage but this can be pressed out or left to hang.
Unsized but approx measurements provided below:
