An attractive and unusual silver horseshoe brooch, made in the Victorian era by Payton, Pepper and Co, Birmingham 1889.

This brooch has a whimsical style horn with a curb chain link horseshoe running through all made from thick Victorian sterling silver.

A very artistic piece of antique silver jewellery made by a renowned maker of the era.

Horseshoes were a prominent feature in Victorian jewellery and they were considered a symbol of good fortune.

Horns and whimsical symbols are thought to have represented wisdom.
