Stunning and sumptuous is the only way to describe this amazing early 1920's rich silk velvet opera coat.
This amazing opera coat is made from a superior quality silk velvet in an inky black shade, it is so soft to touch, fully lined in ivory silk with ruched cuffs, a single covered button fastening with a woven fabric and a huge oversized white ranch mink collar.
It has a very long v neckline which is offset beautifully by the large fluffy white collar.
It is rich and decadent, made in the 20's by Slattery and Co, Boston, it still retains its original label, the company E. T. Slattery was a very high end clothing store in Boston in the 19th and 20th century founded in 1867.
There is some small pitting on some areas of the velvet but this does not detract from the coat at all.
The silk lining within the sleeves has torn, only in the sleeves though and this cannot be seen from the outside, there have been some repairs on the seams under the arms but this is not noticeable and has been done professionally.
It has not been cleaned by us so may require cleaning prior to use.
There are no size labels.
