An interesting and rather beautiful cigarette case made in India in the 40's.
It has an etched image either side of the taj mahal or similar style building with some very detailed handiwork.
Colours have been interjected into the case of red green and some brass highlights, this gives the case a lovely finish.
I believe the case was handmade for someone, it has a small hand etched monogram on the front of FGW and inside their ie information pertaining to the previous owner, name and a date of 1944 along with Nainital India.
The interior is nice and clean and has an elasticated strap to hold the cigarettes in place.
It is in a used vintage condition there are signs of use but good condition for the age, to close this case you need to depress the button that you use to open it, it does not just snap shut, it was made like this though.
Approx 4" width and 3" height.
