A very attractive highly decorative late 19th century mandinka tribe dagger.
Presented in a detailed, hand tooled leather and cow hide scabbard with the greatest attention to detail, a lot of time has gone into this beautiful leatherwork.
The hilt and the scabbard are in excellent condition, the blade not so sharp on the edges but sharpened to a point, it has some signs of wear and some rust pitting but commensurate with the age.
No makers marks.
A nice collectors or display piece.
It has a good weight to it and approx total length is 11.5" with the blade being 7" in length and 1" width.
