A very attractive highly decorative pair of late 18th early 19th century Austrian Halberds.
Highly detailed fretwork main front axe blade with a similar hooked back blade for dismounting the enemy throwing them violently and brutally through the air.
Halberds or halbards are a medieval style two handed, long range weapon that came into popularity in the 14th / 15th century.
Long pointed top spikes and wooden shafts, they are not exactly the same this pair, one is slightly larger and slightly different than the other.
There is some ageing present, slight rust pitting of the blades and metalwork but commensurate with the age and overall good condition for the age.
They would make a fantastic display piece and are great for the collector.
No makers marks.
They approximately 95" each in length.
They will require specialist shipping so please contact us with your location for a shipping quote prior to purchasing, the listing price does NOT INCLUDE shipping costs, free UK and Scotland mainland delivery is available post purchase only.
