An absolutely fabulous set of antique postal scales by the renowned Sampson Mordan & Co, London.
A very renowned maker of the period.
These scales date to the late 19th century Circa 1885.
They are stamped with the makers name to the brass arm.
The large brass plate has the English postal rates for the period including inland and British empire rates, tables for British postal rates in each period can be found online.
These Immaculate brass scales are mounted on an attractive mahogany plinth with recesses for the weights.
They are in excellent antique condition, working well and just as they would have originally.
There are no bends or dents to arms or plates.
They come with the original set of weights and dump.

1 x 4oz
1 x 2oz
2 x 1oz and a 1oz dump
1 x ½oz
1 x ¼oz
