This pretty purse dating from the 1800's is truly magical.

A highly decorative and skilled beadwork purse using tiny Royal blue glass beads with a decorative gilt beaded star pattern atop the rich blue.

It is a reticule style though it has extremely pretty stich holders made entirely from French gilt or ormolu, each stitch holder comprises of a rod supporting the bead stitching and at the end of each side is a bird figure and a large gilt bead representing the dove of peace.

Attached then is a thick link gilt chain that secures a decorative gilt ring and this would be used to secure the purse to ones hand.

Highly skilled craftsmanship went into the making of this little belle epoque beauty, a truly unique and wonderful piece of antique French fashion history.

With the original gilt stitch holders and the ring.

This piece is in excellent antique condition for the age and shows no more wear than is visible in the pictures.

Approx measurements are as follows:
2.8" high
2.3" wide
0.7" ring diameter
2.5" chain diameter
