An interesting novelty antique ink pot modelled as an old pot belly stove.
Victorian era it is made from heavy and weighty solid bronze.
The pipe of the stove screws off and could be used to store a writing implement as it is hollow, the pot belly stores the ink.
It has the potential to be portable much like the Japanese yatate.
There is some sign of soft solder on the joins, internally it is stained with blue ink, overall good condition, c1880.
A fantastic novelty piece, if you are a collector of inkwells or as a gift.
Approx 3.5" height, 2.5" width.
