A stunning salmon vibrant 0.50ctw Padaradscha the most rare and prized sapphire, the name derives after the Sinhalese word Padma radschen, meaning lotus blossom, as the stone is of similar colour to the aquatic lotus flower, the sapphire is clear to the eye, the rarest of all sapphire's set in 15ct tested gold and silver fronted brooch. with 12 rose cut diamonds, approx. 0.15 ctw and 4 high lustre natural pearls, it measures 38mm x 18mm and its weight is 3.5 grams. with a fine hinged safety catch.
The brooch is in its original Carrington & Co box . Carrington & Co was originally founded in 1780 on London’s famed Regent Street, Carrington & Company operated as the Court Jewellers, with Royal Warrants ( please note the crown on the box lid) obtained from Queen Victoria, Prince Albert, Edward VII, and George V, as well as Russian Tsar Nicholas I and II and Queen Alexandra of Russia.
