This early, gorgeous, rare Depose 12 by Jumeau, in my opinion has exceptional beauty. A doll to instantly fall in love with. The perfect model for any wig or costume, her beauty shines through every time and I have really enjoyed owning her. A very special doll to gaze upon.
Her wonderful pressed bisque head is marked with an incised Depose and the size 12 (25 inches). She has applied ears. I could gush all day about her wonderfully painted features and those blue deep lagoon paperweight eyes. It has been mentioned that she looks very much like a Portrait Jumeau and a Thuillier. Her eight loose ball body with straight wrists is marked with the Jumeau stamp. She certainly is an early version of the wonderful dolls made by Emile Jumeau. Although she looks so perfect, she does have damage to her face. I bought her this way and it has never bothered me, she always displays beautifully and when you gaze at that beauty you just don’t see the damage.
She comes with her original extension wig and is wearing her wonderful original, embroidered sheer dress over many under garments and embroidered bonnet. I have added a silk ribbon sash and will include a lovely, straw bonnet with velvet and silk flowers. She is wearing her original shoes but one sole is missing and the other has the Emile Jumeau, Med,Or 1878, Paris Depose stamp.
If perfect this would be a very expensive doll (I have only seen one other which sold for $15,000), so this is a great opportunity to own something spectacular for a fraction of the cost.
