Art Deco potter and decorator A. Dubois of Belgium made this pottery jar with ten angled sides. The jar has a wonderful mottled tan glaze with hints of blue. The top is decorated with Dubois’ characteristic small spray of colorful flowers. The shallow “bonbonniere” is about 3 ¼” (8.3 cm) tall to the top of the finial.
The jar is in very good condition. There are two small, shallow glaze flakes on the angles on the lid and a flake on the bottom. A. Dubois signed the piece on one of the floral designs on the lid. The bottom has a “Made in Belgium” ink stamp, and “801” and “3” in the mold.
