On offer is this truly lovely antique canteen of cutlery. There are 24 items in total - 12 x knives and 12 x forks - all of which are in really good condition overall, the silver plating shines up beautifully still. There are light surface scratches here and there but nothing which has exposed the base metal and all adding to the aged charm and character of the set. I do apologize for the light reflections in the photos.

Each item has a traditional shape and size and have been beautifully decorated with an engraved front bright cut inspired design and a busy handle pattern evocative of their era. The detailing is superb and as shown in the photos has added such a quality elegant finish to the set.

The backs are plain in design and marked with "D & S EP", late Victorian circa 1880's.

The forks measure 18cm (7 inches) in length and the knives 20cm (8 inches).

Designed for fish eating/ for the fish course.

As shown in the photos they come presented in their original wooden oak canteen/ box which is still looking really good. I just love the original rich green interior - the cutlery looks stunning against this.

No key for the lock but the top does close as it should.

A truly magnificent antique set ready to be collected and enjoyed once again.
