On offer is this truly lovely antique inkstandish/ inkwell epergne. It's in good condition overall, the silver plating shines up well still - notable ware to the epergne holder and border decoration and light scratches all over but as shown in the photos all adding to the aged charm and character of the piece.
It's of traditional form featuring a silver plated base decorated with an applied plated britannia metal border and four ball feet. The two original inkwells are present still and feature an attractive cut design and original silver plated hinged top. To the front side are two small holders for a pen to rest across.
The centre holds a glass trumpet vase - superb condition for its' age with the colors contrasting beautifully with the silver plate.
Produced by James Deakin of Sheffield, circa late 19th century.
It measures a decorative 20cm (8 inches) in length, 18.5cm (7 and 1/4 inches) in height and is ready to be collected and enjoyed once again!
