On offer is this lovely old pair of coin spoons. Both are in good condition overall, the white silver metal shines up well still - notable scratching to the reverse sides but as shown in the photos all adding to the aged charm and character of the pair.
They are both spoons made from Marie Theresia coins - despite being made into spoons the detailing to their front side is still of a good standard with the original coin markings still visible. The reverse sides are plain and heavily scratched.
Both handles have a twisted finish and although unmarked would be low grade silver (.800).
The Austrian Marie Theresia coins themselves would be from circa late 18th century with the conversion into spoons done in the 19th century.
They both measure 14.5cm (5 and 3/4 inches) in length and weigh collectively 31.6g.
A lovely unusual pair of coin silver spoons ready to be collected and enjoyed once again!
