On offer is this truly stunning antique spirit kettle and stand. All items are in really good condition overall, the silver plating shines up beautifully still all over. There is a small area of light ware around the handle but certainly nothing which detracts. I apologize for the dark light reflections in the photos!
The stand itself has a traditional open rectangular form decorated with a pierced pattern and beaded rim. Supported by four beautifully crafted paw feet it's a work of art on its' own.
The original silver plated burner is also present - two levers - one to open the hinged top and the other to lift the burner higher for a more intense heat if required. I Just love it!
The spirit kettle is of traditional Georgian form being relatively plain in design yet stands out so elegantly. The fixed handle retains original ebonized top. An interesting feature is the flat hinge to the lid - most stylish indeed and a sign of great quality.
Both pins are present still - one has kinked but still works as it should.
Produced by James Dixon of Sheffield, early 20th century.
The kettle measures 23cm (9 inches) in length and when mounted on it's stand measures around 31.5cm (12 and 1/4 inches) in height.
A truly superb example ready to be collected and enjoyed once again.
