On offer is this lovely vintage commemorative loving cup. It's in really good condition overall, the brass metal has a lovely aged patina over it and the iron handles look great still.
It has a traditional conical shape which has been superbly hand decorated to the front side with a coat of arms and the motto "Urbis Palladium Gentis" - "Safeguard of the city and the Nation". This was produced as a tourist item from the town of Pau in France, birthplace of King Henry IV.
The original handles are present still and feature a lovely twisted design.
A period 1930's piece from France, marked "H.Mugarih".
It measures an impressive 23cm (9 inches) from handle to handle and 23.5cm (9 and 1/4 inches) in height.
A truly lovely commemorative ready to be collected and enjoyed once again.
