On offer is this lovely collectible unusual and rare plate. It's in good condition overall, no chips cracks or restoration and the colors look great still. There is light crazing all over and a few specs of color loss to the design but as shown in the photos all adding to the aged charm and character of the piece.
It has a traditional plate shape which has been decorated with an off white background glaze and on to this a delightfully charming scene of a mother kookaburra and her offspring perched on a branch. The detailing is of a good standard and looks fantastic on display.
The design is named "School's In" by the artist/ designer "IA Crisp".
The reverse is stamped for "A J Wilkinson" and "Honeyglaze", circa 1930's.
It measures 23cm (9 inches) in length and is ready to be collected and enjoyed once again.
