On offer is this unique set of antique trophy/ award plaques. They're in good condition overall, the brass metal shines up well still and the pewter has darkened evenly over the years - there are unfortunate extensive corrosion areas (especially over the pewter) and notable scuffs/ old rust specs but as shown in the photos all adding to the aged charm and character of the trio.
All three are of traditional heart form, flat in construction and have two top holes for screwing onto plaques.
The brass one reads:
"Thorne Agricultural Association, June 20th 1866, Carriage, Yearling Coly or Filly, First Prize".
One of the pewter one reads:
"Thorne Agricultural Association, June 19th 1867, Carriage, 2 Year old Gelding or Filly, Second Prize".
And the other pewter award:
"Thorne Agricultural Association, June 20th 1866, Roadster, Yearling Colt or Filly, Second Prize".
They measure a charming 11.5cm (4 and 1/2 inches) by 10cm (4 inches) are readu to be collected and enjoyed once again!
