On offer is this lovely collectible antique warming dish. It's in good condition overall, the pewter metal has tarnished and aged beautifully over the years - there is a notable dent around the top rim as well as notable scuffs and scratches all over. The pewter seems to have corroded over the top side too but as shown in the photos all adding to the aged charm and character of the piece.
It's of traditional circular form, plain in design yet ever so charming and elegant in appearance. The two original carrying handles are present and the small hinged flap is also working still however there is a gap in the closed position (please refer to images).
The reverse shows a label mark for Newcastle-upon-Tyne and single touch mark for William Hogg, circa 1780 - 1815.
It measures 25.5cm (10 inches) in length from handle hinge to handle hinge, 3cm (1 and 1/4 inches) in height and is ready to be collected and enjoyed once again!
