These two gemstone varieties combine to create an extraordinary rosy palette in an oversized pendant. There is a wide bail at top. There is no brooch pin. The bail can accommodate a variety of chain clasps and widths under 3mm. This is a stationary bail and could easily be replaced with a larger bail for wear with a wide Omega necklace. The bail is hallmarked "14K" and the pendant weighs 37.5 grams or 24.11 dwt.
The tourmalines vary in shades of soft rose to deep raspberry. The backs of all of the stones remains open for a fabulous view of these natural wonders. be converted with a larger bail to accommodate an Omega chain.
All nine cabochons are in identical bezels with four prongs which simply yet perfectly showcase the natural wonder of these beautiful stones. While this is indeed a magnificent show piece pendant, its sturdy yet simple construction would easily lend itself to being converted into three pairs of outstanding cabochon earrings plus three pendants, with minimal labor and expense.
The quartz and tourmalines stones are natural and offer a beautiful view of their unique properties. The quartz cabochon is a pale rose hue that offers superb clarity. Two aligned mineral fibers are visible with the naked eye at just the right angle, in just the right light. All eight of the tourmalines vary in clarity. The palest three stones exhibit the best clarity with inherent inclusions similar to that of a jar of jam. Sweet and delicious! The two cabochons at each side of top center offer less transparency with a decidedly violet tone. The three darkest tourmalines are closest to what is commonly referred to as a rubellite. Not red, but a brilliant deep purplish pink. Their depth of color makes it difficult to see their inherent inclusions without lighted magnification.
The pendant is in excellent condition with no issues with any of the cabochons or any of their settings. The bail is in excellent working order as well. All nine stones have a brilliant high polish and surfaces are clean without scratches, chips or cracks.
This beautiful pendant will be delivered in a lovely presentation case perfect for gift giving and storage.
