The rich, dark hues of natural garnet have captivated souls for generations. This stately 10K yellow gold ring showcases a 4 carat almandine garnet in a two tone yellow and white gold cathedral mount.
The faceted oval garnet is deep in color with brilliant red flashes in the light. The stone measures 11.25x9mm by 5mm deep. The total carat weight is estimated at 4 carats. The stone is solidly secured with four prongs and set on a raised bezel that rises above a lustrous 10K white gold illusion surround. This surround features a pebble finish that so closely emulates the look of a diamond surround that you will have to find your magnifying glass to marvel at its splendidly pebbled illusion.
The entire face of the ring measures 5/8" by just over 9/16" (15.6mm by 15mm). The ring shank measures a size 6 US and is hallmarked "10K". We estimate age to late 1960's, but its condition is superb, with no wear or damage to either the stone or the mount. The ring weighs 3.4 grams.
The yellow and white gold mount adds tremendous sparkle with the contrast of the white gold surround exceptional. It can easily be mixed and match with a variety of other jewelry, either yellow or white gold.
