Oh so beautiful...this 12ct gold amethyst and pearl heart pendant is a dazzler.
Circa 1900, this remarkable pendant is fairly large in size at 44.5mm tall (1-3/4"), including bail, by 23.4mm (15/16") at the heart's widest point. The center of the heart embraces a climbing vine with a 5mm faceted round amethyst at center and eleven natural seed pearls set in a floral and leaf pattern that adds a diamond like sparkle to this love symbol. Two 2.5mm gold beads complete the ornamentation at lower center. A second round amethyst measuring 4.4mm dangles beneath the heart. Both amethysts are set in matching bezels. Their combined estimated carat weight is .70 carat. The heart itself (without both bails) measures 30mm tall by 23.4mm.
The movement of the amethyst dangle adds just the right bit of spice to the passionate purple beauty. There are no hallmarks, but the gold content of this pendant has been tested at 12K yellow gold. This pendant is British in origin, with this carat being used in Great Britain throughout the 19th century and early 20th century, until the early 1930's. This beautiful heart weighs 3 grams.
The condition of the pendant is excellent. All stones are original and without damage.
This splendid heart pendant is a great gift idea for any occasion. Perfect for Birthday, Anniversary, Graduation...or any event, as a token of love. It will be delivered in a lovely presentation case, perfect for gift giving and storage.
