Circa 1980's, this elegant suite consists of a 16" necklace of 10.3mm lapis stone beads and matching earrings with a grand triangulated gold tone shields. The stone beads are dyed to emulate natural lapis lazuli. These gold shields measure approximately 1" and feature a 10.3mm split bead with a snake coiled around their center. The necklace is accented with eight 11x9mm honeycomb accent beads and sixteen 4mm rondelles, and all are plated in a brilliant 22K gold tone finish.
The necklace is fitted with a 17x13.6mm cabochon clasp with a tongue and groove closure. It weighs a hefty 67.4 grams, so these are not lightweight plastic or glass beads. Actual hue is a lapis blue and not the brighter blue that our camera captured in natural daylight.
The earrings are fitted with large non-pierced clips that include their original comfort cushions. They weight 22.6 grams.
There are no stamps on any of the three golden shields. Their buttery hue give the look of 22K yellow gold designs that you expect from Turkish and Middle Eastern designs. Paired with the Mediterranean blue hue of lapis, this beautiful necklace and earrings most definitely bring the wow factor when worn.
All is in excellent condition with no evidence of wear. The necklace clasp is in excellent working order as are the earring clips. The original clip cushions are still supple and not dried out. They have been professionally cleaned and any marks are from storage over time.
This striking suite will be delivered in a lovely presentation case, perfect for gift giving and storage.
