Handsome good looks abound in this 10K tiger eye cameo ring!
Circa 1920's-1930's, this generously sized ring features a left facing carving of side by side Roman Centurion solders, a very popular theme for men's rings of this period. The cameo is set in a beautiful 10K mount with unusual detail at the shoulders. The carving measures 14.5x11.6mm and is set in a 16.5x14.2mm bezel, with an open undergallery that displays the chatoyance of this earthy golden brown stone. Our gallery photo perfectly captures the actual color with the iridescence more golden and not yellow that other photos may reflect. Tiger eye jewelry was very popular for gentlemen's jewelry as this time and considered quite "manly", especially for rings and cuff links. Good looks at a reasonable price, built to last, for the discriminating man.
The mount's shoulders resemble saddle bags and are wide at 11.3x10.5mm. The shank's width slowly graduates 3.8-2.8mm. This sturdy shank is a size 10. While most assuredly designed for a man of the day, circa 1920's or so, this ring in absolutely perfect as is for a grand lady's forefinger of middle finger ring. It rises off the finger approximately 5/16". The details of the saddle bad shoulders combined with the light play of this stone makes this a fun ring to wear. You won't be able to take your eyes off of it!
The shank is hallmarked "10K" and has also been tested and guaranteed. It bears a simple makers mark of an encircled "S". The right weighs 6.2 grams.
During the late 1800's to early 1900's, 10K gold was the go to karat for durability, and was widely used in rings, especially for men. This ring has enjoyed a great life and has much more enjoyment to offer. The only thing that is missing is YOU.
This ring is in excellent condition. The stone is without damage, with no nicks or chips to the carving or nibbles at the outer edges. The stone is set firmly in the bezel and we see no issue with any portion of the ring mount whatsoever. It appears to be in its original size but can be resized for a custom fit. (We are loving its vibe as a forefinger ring, I must admit).
The rich yet muted hues of tiger eye make it an easy to wear gemstone. It is easy to mix and match with all of your jewelry and its shimmer is sure to keep you entertained.
It will be delivered in a leather bound ring box, perfect for gift giving and storage.
