A set of 4 French kitchen tin nesting canisters made in the 1930s. This checker design was (and still is) very popular in France, and is known as 'Lustucru' named after a pasta company which used a checkerboard design on their packaging. These canisters were premium or incentive received by consumers for buying Lustucru products. Lovely and nostalgic french country decoration.
The 4 canisters were designed to store from the largest to the smallest: Sugar, Flour, Chicory, Tea
Condition: These canisters are in very good vintage condition with limited markings on the outside and some rust inside. The chicory canister is slightly bent in the front. Other than that, it is really shiny and very good looking for its age.
Sugar Canister (largest) : 7" (18 cm) H x 5" (12 cm) L x 3½" (9 cm) W
Tea Canister (smallest) : 4" (10 cm) H x 2¾" (7 cm) L x 1¾" (4.5 cm) W
Total weight : 1 lb 4 oz- 560 gr
