beautiful and rare set of 5 vintage French kitchen canisters made in the 1920s in St Use. The ceramics that came out of this area were typically stoneware (a very durable ceramic material), and the blue color came from the cobalt that were use to stamp designs on each piece. Truly sunning!
This set is made with 2 designs or collections: one with clover for the Flour and Salt, and the other with typical art deco pattern. These canisters were designed to store from the largest to the smallest: Flour, Salt, Coffee, Tea and Pepper.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition except for a small hairline crack on the side of the coffee canister. The Flour canister was also broken in 2 during transportation so I glued it back. The crack affects one side and the back of the canister. Both defects are not visible on the front when the series is being displayed. Please refer to picture #5. Other than that, they are vintage perfect.
