A really nice small coffee grinder made by Peugeot et Frere. This model is called Diabolo and was produced during the 1952 - 1956 period. Because this model was produced over such a short period of time, they are rare to find. This grinder has professionally been repaint in white, which was one if its original color.
Its small size allowed people to use when traveling during vacation or work. Because it is all steel it is really solid. This coffee mill can also be used as pepper mill.
♥ Working condition ♥
This coffee grinder is very good vintage and in working condition. You can choose your type of grinding: from fine to coarse through the little knob sitting under the burr. This model has the burr mechanism welded to the body of the mill, so it is not possible to disassemble the mill to fully clean it. Because of this, there is a little bit rust inside bit on the burr as well as a stain off paint (Picture 4). I have done my best to clean it and this should come out with regular use. Still, please keep in mind that this grinder is over 60 years old, so it will probably not perform as perfectly as a new modern version.
♥ Noticeable cosmetic issues ♥
There are some light marks in the front near the logo as seen on picture 1. There is also some marking in the top new the central axe (Picture 5]. Everything is original including the logo. Please note that all metal Peugeot models have a tight adjustment of the lower recipient making them hard sometime to open. Click on Zoom for larger pictures.
