An American Classical Carved Mahogany Pier Table, c. 1830, Boston, rectangular top, ogee frieze, fluted Doric columns with foliate collars, plinth base, height 31 in., width 42 1/2 in., depth 18 in. This form shows the classic architectural style of the New York, Boston area. Which greatly differs from the American southern pier tables.
Condition: Base retains the original finish and patina. Original mirror w/backboards replaced. Beautiful granite top now completes this table, with the original wood top available. As seen two small areas at side bottoms w/veneer missing, will repair or let the new owner repair
Table has been repolished, condition is very good as expected with age and use as these tables had many uses.
