English Copper Haystack Measure Jug used to store Ale.

Beautiful large copper jug with brass emblem on the front. This jug was used to store ale and other liquids.
Found in northern England.
Circa 1820s.
This is a large, heavy jug and will make a great focal point in any room.

The earlier copper jugs like this one were round while in later years they became longer as they were easier to manufacture.
